Thought this looked like a great place to eat. Waiter seemed cold but attentive. Ordered some seafood and again the waiter seemed "not bothered". Food came and it was excellent, pasta had a bite to it which was great. Not the mush we get in England and passed of as "real" italian. At the end of the meal I told the waiter the food was great and his expression didn't change. We paid the bill and got up to leave and he gave us a big handshake and a smile. Give this place a go and don't moan about the cost of the food you order when the prices are on the menu. I would eat there again in a heartbeat. Very recommended.

Actually gobsmacked at the rating on Google (currently 2.9) - it very much deserves 5 stars. We had a wonderful night, not rushed, sensational views of the Pantheon and live music in the square - the food and copious amount of drinks we had were delightful. A special mention to our waiter Tusher - he went above and beyond to ensure we had our reserved table with the best view for our party of guests as it was our last night in Rome and we live on the other side of the world to each other. He looked after us so well all night, thank you to the staff behind the scenes too. I will definitely return to Rome and we will definitely return here.

I've eaten at Ritorno al Passato a few times now. We always love their pasta. I had the penne with arrabbiata sauce. I had them add sausage which was fantastic. My wife had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken added. It vastly superior to the same dish served last night at another restaurant with a 4.5 rating. The chicken were good size and moist. The wine was very nice. Of course, the view of the Pantheon made the ambience incredible. This restaurant deserves a higher rating. We ordered margharita con burrata and aperol spiritz. The look was nice and pizza was amazing. This is a true gem but not hidden because you watch Pantheon during your dinner! If you are in Rome, you should definitely try. The terrace is comfortable and warm during winter. The best experience.

While enjoying a table right in front of the Pantheon at Ritorno al Passato, I tried a selection of local cheeses – each one more flavorful than the last. Paired with a bottle of San Pellegrino, it was the perfect Roman experience. The atmosphere, the view, and the traditional dishes truly made me feel like I had stepped back in time.

Went here twice. Dinner in the evening which was excellent and quite reasonable for Rome, especially given the location. Then we spent a whole afternoon here just watching the world go by, drinking coffees and cocktails. Our waiter was hilarious, cracking jokes about the cocktails being a version of the Covid vaccine! A very pleasurable experience, one of those great days in life that creates such good memories. Yes we recommend this restaurant. Good food, good wines, great staff and an incredible location!!
